A contrasting apron keeps the whole thing balanced rather than busy, and the hook closure makes it genuinely easy to get into. Good with a high-necked blouse with a button placket and some detail of its own.

THE TRENTINI BUILD
Stabilising boning at the centre front holds the shape. Generous seam allowances at the sides, centre and waist mean it can be altered and re-altered — built to last years, not a season. Double-stitched seams, ruffles worked by hand.
Fit note: a dirndl should sit skin-tight. Blouse and accessories not included.
